Entry #05 Allstate's Mayhem

Mayhem Bear

Allstate’s Mayhem bear commercial is a great example of how humor can be used to convey a serious message. In this ad, the character Mayhem, who is known for causing trouble, is shown as a bear causing chaos in the wilderness. the commercial communicates the importance of having good and reliable insurance.

Mayhem is a familiar character in most Allstate ads, His role as a troublemaker shows that accidents can happen anytime and anywhere, and Allstate is always ready to help. The brand uses this chaos to remind people that they can rely on Allstate when things go south.

The commercial uses humor to connect with viewers emotions. While the bear’s wild behavior is a tad exaggerated, it still highlights the fear of the unexpected. The funny twist makes the serious message about the need for insurance more relatable and less stressful.

Logically, the ad makes the point that accidents are unpredictable, and you need insurance to be prepared. The idea is simple: whether it’s a bear or something else, life can always throw a wrench in your plans.

  3. Your two new entries are pretty good, Paul. You have some good ideas for topics, and sometimes you are developing your content enough, but you also are brief at times. Dig further into your ideas to create more significance for your audience. Pretty good visual engagement in Entry #4, but not much in #5. Keep at it. Missing Entries #3 & #6.
